Patricia Apollonia Kotero, an American singer and actress has been a model for a while. Her most famous work is the lead in Prince's 1984 Purple Rain film and lead singer in the girl-group Apollonia 6 Apollonia, a singer/actress christened by Prince in 1984 was one of the female singers of the 1980s who benefitted from Prince. Patricia Kotero was born in Santa Monica in California in 1959. Her professional career began as a model during the late 1970s. Kotero also made an appearance on CHiPS. She was the lead female for Prince's Purple Rain in 1984 (at the time he changed her name). The same year, she replaced Vanity in the form of the trio Vanity 6 and performed with them under the brand name Apollonia 6 in the film. Sex Shooter was only a small achievement for the group however she made a greater effect as the duet partner of Prince on Take Me with You on the soundtrack. After a falling out about the direction of her career Apollonia 6 broke up, and Kotero stopped her collaboration with Prince. The actress was featured in numerous small films, including Purple Rain's sequel Under the Cherry Moon (which she declined), and then landed the lead role as Falcon Crest on the Night-Time drama Falcon Crest from 1985-1986. Apollonia was her first public appearance in 1988. However, the album of R&B/dance, which was rather pedestrian and failed to impress people who were buying music at that time, quickly vanished. The singer was still active, though she wasn't in the spotlight as an actress during the decade, albeit with minor appearances in films and on television. A workout DVD was released. Apollonia's album Stay With Me was released in 1997. Later, she returned to the school and received a degree in filmmaking as well as a production company often working in the field of children's TV.
